Mason Jar Candy Corn Votives

Hi Friends, are you ready for some Fall Fun? Today I'm joining in with a great group of vintage-loving friends to share how we use Mason Jars. We all love the humble Mason/Ball jar, created in the mid 1800's, and many of us collect the vintage and antique variety. They are still being made today, and while I don't "can" with them I do use them for so many things, from a sturdy little drinking glass (perfect for a lemonade on the porch) to an easy to put together candle holder.

Since it's Fall I thought I'd share with you all a few of the ways I've used Mason Jars during past Fall seasons. The Mason Jar is a great vessel for "make your own" candles, but I've opted for the easy route and used them for votive holders. The great thing about votives is that they can be used with so many "fillers" to make a fun and seasonal themed look.

Way back, like over 10 years ago when I first started blogging, I found a great pic of this Fall votive carrier with Mason Jars using a favorite fall candy for the "filler". It's from a Country Living Magazine from the early 2000's. It was so cute I thought I'd try my own spin on it. I used a vintage wire carrier and 3 vintage glass top clear Mason Jars.

And a bonus, when the candle melts down into the candies,

you get a delicious scent of yummy treats.

These pics are from my "3-houses-ago" sunporch decorated for October.

There sure were a lot of colorful prints and patterns going on in that small space!

But Hey, Late October is a fun time for bright Fall colors.

A couple of great things about Mason Jars are that they immediately bring vintage to mind
and are easy to change out the filler and individual votive candles to keep it fresh.
I've used this same idea with acorns, nuts, mini pinecones, buttons

faux flowers in a compartmentalized wooden tote.
