Starting on Spring with Green Transferware

After Valentine's Day I'm starting to think about Spring and Green and needing a change from the cold and dreary February weather. It's too early to be going all "Easter Bunnies" for me. But as I was thinking about my Holiday Cupboard in the Garden Room, I realized that bringing out some of my Green Transferware might be the first step that I needed.

I'm sharing a few of the small vignettes that I put together
inside the cupboard that give just a hint of Spring.

I usually have Brown Transferware as my base for this cupboard.
I used Red for Christmas, which was a lot of fun,
but Spring needs a fresh look.

I love using small prints and postcards to set a mood and theme for displays. Not sure where I picked up this vintage crazy quilt heart, but loving the plaid and dark green.

Aren't these little mini topiaries so cute? I found them last year when we were in Branson. Now I'm wishing I would have bought several more.

I'll be sharing more of the Holiday Cupboard and start bringing in more touches of Spring with St. Patrick's Day and Easter as we get into March. Here are a few images from previous posts where I used pieces from my collection of green Transferware and my Ivy dishes I found a couple of years ago.

Are you getting started on anything Spring?

Hope to see you next Monday evening.

  5. I LOVE all your transferware, and the green is perfect now, and with the brown it feels very earthy, true to nature. I gave what green I had to one of my sisters in my downsize. Those little topiaries are really cute. That cupboard is a wonderful place to play with dishes, Debra. I am welcoming spring with small transitions also.

  6. Green is such a pretty addition to your neutral palette. Love the ivy dishes, my mom had a few pieces of this when I was small and growing up! So, pretty and a hint of Spring, which is comforting here in Chicagoland with 11 degree temps!

  8. So pretty. We had a mild, mild day in New York City today and it got me definitely in a "It Might as Well be Spring" kind of mood. Spring is my favorite season and I'm eager for real spring and spring flowers.

  11. Oh...my this is all so pretty. So perfect for early spring or early spring wishing. You always do the best vignettes. I love transferware but have just a few pieces. I'm trying not to collect it because I have so much of so many things. I will show soon a spring vignette with Majolica....a passion of mine. Always love seeing what you are up to!
