Fall Vignette on the Farmtable

I wanted to have a little fun this week with one of my vintage birdcages and a sassy little blackbird that I've had for a few years. He didn't fare very well during the move, as his cute little paper hat became unattached. I did the easy thing and used some transparent tape to get it back on. Don't look too close. He's almost good as new.

I really love having my farmtable (farm table?) out in the Garden Room because it's so easy to see, yet we don't use it much. It's a large flat surface just begging to have decor "vignetted" all over it. I've been using my old ice cream bucket since mid-Summer when I noticed that it was looking a little "chewed" while out on the back porch. Yes, we have a few of those little squirrel and chipmunk friends who tend to be teething.... all over my vintage wooden goodies. (shelves, signs, birdhouses, with lots of nuts stashed around)

Back to my friend in the birdcage. so cute with his little orange ruffled collar.

hmmm. I need to work on the tape fix.

Here is the little guy a couple of years ago hanging out in another vintage birdcage.

You can tell by the pumpkins on the table that I try out different elements
before I decide. Then I'll tweak it more a bit later.

I don't know if I've ever shown this old metal tray before. It looks like some old grocery store transit tray. Like maybe to move around bread or packaged goods. Love the orange color. It's holding a couple of my wool pumpkins that I don't bring out until the weather gets cooler. I like to use them for Thanksgiving, since wool pumpkins are a little odd at 90 degrees.

My lighted pumpkin is in my PB urn.
It looks super cute when the lights are low in the Garden Room.

I've had to bring a few of my outside ferns and small plants inside,
 so it's looking a little "greenhouse-y"

This is a pic from last week's tabletop vignette.
I do change things up frequently.
I have 2 of this size PB lanterns and I wanted to try filling one with gourds and pumpkins.
I was using the lantern early this month before I put together the birdcage.

When the landscape work started I brought my new plaid pillow covers inside
from the front porch. Dust and mud alternating making a big mess.
We're making progress... slow, but progress.

Have a great weekend, friends.
