(It's a Chilly) Christmas on the Front Porch

Welcome to our Home for Christmas!

I think we're all having below normal temps this last week.
Actually, it's been pretty chilly around here for the last several weeks;
chilly enough to keep me from wanting to spend time outside
fiddling with Christmas decorations and my camera.

Of course you would know that I'd wait until the coldest day of the year so far,
to finally get out there and take some snaps of the front porch.
Hubbs said it was 13 while I was out there shivering and piddling around.
It was so cold that I couldn't make my fingers work. no kidding.

We had our first dusting of snow, and that made it a little slick on the porch.
So I was praying no one would drive by and see me acting like a crazy person,
because I'm sure they'd think only crazy people
are outside taking pictures when it's 13 degrees!

Here's my new old bench that I found this Fall.
I had plans to do a bit more with it for Christmas,
but it's just been too cold to get out here and try to be creative.
But don't you just love that wonderful little bit of frosty snow?
It's the real thing, friends, no fake snow needed!

Even though I have them wired to the railing,
I guess both my little trees have been sitting wonky, but honestly,
I didn't notice...cause it was so cold.
Just tilt your head a little bit to the right;
you won't notice it at all!

Hydrangeas and Green Poinsettias with Evergreens and Holly
in my door basket.

I just noticed that this is a Vintage "Paris Champion Fastback" ,
 woohoo!

and an old galvanized French Watering Can

Pillow I made many Christmases ago and a
Vintage Wool Plaid Fringed Throw from Highland Clanwear
from Fort William Scotland.

Thanks for coming by,
Have a great rest of Christmas Week.
Are you finished with all the baking, shopping, and wrapping?
I'm getting there!

Stay warm you guys!

  1. Your front porch is beautiful, Debra, even without any Christmas decor but your decorations are so cute! That sleigh from Paris?! Love that! And that bench is so charming! Hope you and yours are having a wonderful Christmas season.

  2. This is all so lovely, Debra...and I love how you mix patterns for such a cozy look! I was wondering how you hang the beautiful basket on the door?

    1. I think it's one of those command type hooks. It must be "Industrial Strength" cause that basket is heavy!

  3. Kudos to you for having the fortitude to brave the cold, Debra! I basically hung my wreaths and arranged the gifts in my old sleigh and called it a day. Your entrance looks so festive and welcoming! I love the red plaid pillow and throw and I hope your guests appreciate your hard work! And I hope you've thawed out. :o)

  5. Very nice. I wouldn't mind a little cool weather, myself! Shorts and flip flops here. But...I guess it's nice for the boat parades. Your porch looks lovely.
