Christmas Cloches au Natural

Hi Friends...
I thought I'd do a quick post
and share my two Christmas Cloches
from the Dining Room.

I love the importance a simple vignette can bring
when it's snuggled away under a dome of glass.

My favorite seems to be of "natural things"
like birds, butterflies, mossy pots, buds and blooms.
Whatever season it is, I lean toward the real reason for a cloche;
to protect the vulnerable plants and specimens.

I have the two I made this year on the Dining Room Buffet,
but since the lighting in that spot has too much glare,
I usually bring them somewhere else to photograph.

I wanted to feature this lovely Velvet Pear made by my sweet friend,
Becky from Timewashed. I think today, 12/12 is her last day open,
then she goes on Holiday Break. But she'll be back next January.

As I was taking pics,
I realized that I needed to eliminate some of the excess,
and let the Velvet Pear take center stage.

So, I did a little re-make,
and liked it so much better.

Here are the Christmas Cloches from last year.

and several years ago...

  1. Great ideas for creating charming scenes to enclose in the cloches. I especially love the plants inside and the birds on the wood.
