Entry with a Vintage Sunflower Print

I hadn't done much if anything, different with my Entry Area since I received the wonderful Sheep Print from Canvas Pop, earlier in the year. But now it's time for a little more "Late Summer" sprinkled around in here.

I have lots of smaller antique and vintage prints that I like to rotate with the seasons on this spot, and this one is my favorite for this time of year. The roadsides are full of Black-Eyed Susans in Missouri, and this old print with it's Sunflowers and bright summer flowers brought in some of those deep "almost Fall" colors. It's in a vintage frame, I've thought about lightening it up a little and may do so. It's faily rustic looking in a burgundy, with a dark green accent and gold on the braiding.

I found a few summery faux flower sprigs and put them in one of my old silver teapots for the silver tray on the entry console. I don't change things up much on this, but I like a few different seasonal accessories.

I took the old coat rack downstairs, it's big and bulky and we don't use it up here. The little black goat cart is sitting here for now. In a few weeks it will be filled with Fall pumpkins and flowers. yay.

The week after the 4th of July, I traded out my Patriotic Flower Basket for some Sunflowers and Hydrangeas. For now, the Springtime, green checked burlap ribbon is back. Looks like I need to straighten out the little accent sticks. It's easy for me to get this lopsided on this door, it's super tall and like everything else it needs a stepladder. To get a good pic, I have to open the door and take it from inside, all the while trying to make sure cats are not escaping.

In the latest round of opening storage boxes, I found this metal ivy container and topiary that I'd had in the living room at the old house, so it's here, now. This isn't a big area, so I'm trying to keep things out of the way.

Over the weekend we made an overnight trip to Montauk State Park which is East of here, it's another trout fishing river and by far the best camping spot we've seen yet. The clear cold river is shallow enough to walk from bank to bank in most places. It snakes through the wooded camping spots, and has an amazing quality to it; so clean and clear. Just wading in it cooled you down from the 105 degree heat index. Since there are so many places for the fishermen to stake out, it's not crowded or noisy. We could see and hear the rushing water from our camper, and it was the most pleasant, relaxing trip we've had. Lot's of these little guys for company.
