You didn't think you'd get by without a
sunporch 4th of July now did you?
I love to change things up on the sunporch for the holidays and seasons, so decorating with a patriotic feel lasts most of the summer. I found this great Patriotic Bunting a few weeks ago and knew this was the perfect spot for it.
My hubbs collects old flags, so I stole borrowed this one which is out here year round. It's faded and worn, but says so much to me. I think it must be an old school room flag, with 48 stars. I have it draped over my old chippy door.
Each year it's something different out here, as I like to change up the quilts and pillows. This time I went with my frenchy red toile quilt with ticking and floral pillows and a needlepoint one in the middle. Patriotic, but romantic...
An old plant stand is one of the girls' favorite perches

and a zinc flower bucket with a little "red, white, and blue"
Hope you enjoyed the visit!

PSALM 23
THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD,
That's Relationship!
I shall not want,
This supply is!
MAKE ME WALK IN GREEN PASTURES,
This is rest!
He leadeth me beside the still waters,
This is refreshing!
He restores my soul,
This is healing!
GUIDE ME FOR THE PATHS OF JUSTICE,
That's Guidance!
FOR THE LOVE OF YOUR NAME,
This is on purpose!
THOUGH I WALK THE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH,
That's Testing!
I will fear no evil,
That's Protection!
Thou art with me,
That is fidelity!
YOUR STICK AND YOUR staff they comfort me,
This is discipline!
Prepare a table before ME IN THE PRESENCE OF MY ENEMIES,
This is hope!
UNGE MY HEAD WITH OIL
That's Consecration!
And my cup runneth over,
That's Abundance!
SURELY GOODNESS AND MERCY A follow me EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE,
This is a blessing!
AND I WILL DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD
That's Security!
FOR LONG DAYS,
This is eternity!
May the Lord bless you and keep you!

I passed up two red/white stripped pillows yesterday at a sale because it never occurred to me that I could make a patriotic theme work in my cedar porch. It's actually a prime spot with minimal effort. Silly me. How nice yours looks. Kitty needs a touch of red white and blue too.
ReplyDelete~Bliss~
You know how I feel about that sun porch of yours, but I gotta say...what a great tie-in to your giveaway.
