But today, I want to share this precious pink hyacinth before it fades. I've never forced these bulbs before; I actually bought three, but this was the only one to bloom. I worked on bringing some "Spring" into the sun porch on Saturday, where this pink sweetie took center stage.
The fragrance is just intoxicating...
I'm ready for more of this...
My sunroom is always the first place that gets decorated
for the new season.
After the bloom is finished I'll plant it out in the front
with a few other hyacinth bulbs that are already in the ground.
Hopefully it will bloom next year.
Are you ready for a little touch of Spring at your place?

I love flowers that bloom from a bulb like that. I think it's the lush green foliage and fullness of the flowers that I like the most. They look so pretty in a pot like you have. It's been a mild winter here so come of my daffodils and tulips are already beginning to sprout! This is early for them!!
ReplyDeleteSpring blooming bulbs are such a treat. Yours looks so pretty in that white pot. Enjoy it while you can!
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely shade of pink. Reminds of bubble gum or the old

ReplyDeleteI was in Cannon Beach,OR, last week where the daffodils were in full bloom. Now I am ready for spring to arrive in Chicago.

Bring on spring--I am so ready! (though I need to clean out my gardens from the winter so I guess I am not totally ready!)
ReplyDeleteDebra, I bet it does smell good!
ReplyDeleteOh I could almost smell it from here! So pretty, lucky you!
ReplyDeleteHyacinths are one of my favorites. I like to put one in my bedroom. The scent relaxes me for sleep and when I wake up it immediately puts me in a good mood. I have a purple one in my room right now. Purple seems to be the most fragrant of the colors to me.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful color and I can practically catch the wonderful scent! These bring back wonderful memories I had of my Grandma and her garden. She had many hyacinths....she called them grape hyacinths. That was a long time ago.
ReplyDeleteKaren
Your post makes me want to get ready for spring, I am going to get some bulbs,
ReplyDeleteA lovely touch of Spring! Yes, I am so ready for warmer weather.
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
Isn't it grand that a single flower can say so much and make us happy and just want to smile....
ReplyDeleteI Love Hyacinth and their intoxicating fragrance! They do quite well here in the Desert and I always buy up all of the faded blooms after Easter when they're marked down to rock bottom price because year after year the bulbs will bloom and propigate... I have Hyacinth bulbs in almost every planter now! They're all beginning to make their appearance again.
